Snowboard Binding, Burton Snowboards
The P1 was developed to be a composite plastic binding by isolating the three main components of the binding- the Baseplate, Heel hoop & Highback- from one another.
In addition the P1 features fully Tool-Free adjustmnent for the Highback and Ankle/Toe Straps.
This design approach allowed us to create each component in it’s own unique material, affording us the freedom to customize the flex pattern of the Binding.
Components could be constructed from a range of materials, such as, a flexible Polycarbonate, to a stiff 50% Glass-Loaded Nylon, to an ultra-stiff Carbon Fiber.
The end result was a range of bindings in a full spectrum of Flex-patterns.
