BOP-IT
BOOMBOX
Games Group, Hasbro Toys
This was an articulated Boombox prototype for the Bop-It Brand for Hasbro's Games Group.
Tools/Skills- Solidworks
The mechanism captained several intricate clutch assemblies to control movement of the Boombox segments.
When the segments were all pushed together (CLOSED), the Right Speaker segment could twist 30-degrees, and the Left Speaker segment could “bend” back approximately 45-degrees.
The Tape Deck Section could not move in any direction.
When the Left and Right Speaker segments were pulled apart (OPEN), the Tape Deck segment would spin 180-degrees.
In the OPEN position, clutches engaged the Left and Right Speaker segments so that they could not Rotate, Bend or move in anyway relative to the Tape Deck segment.
In the CLOSE sequence, the Left/Right Speaker segments are pushed together and the Tape Deck segment does NOT spin.
